Paphos Castle is steeped in history and is a distinctive landmark at Paphos Harbour. It was originally built as a Byzantium Fort to protect the harbour, it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1222 and rebuilt by the Lusignans in the 13 century. It is now possible to have a civil wedding ceremony conducted by a registrar from Paphos Town Hall inside the castle, and then photos can be taken inside the castle on the castle roof where you can see stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and Paphos Harbour. The ceremony takes place in a large ground floor room to the right of the entrance. A white covered table will be provided for the registrar and white covered chairs for the guests. We can provide lanterns to decorate the interior of the room.
